Wootton Bassett Hockey Club

Wootton Bassett Hockey Club (established 1959) in Wiltshire is a successful club running mens and ladies hockey teams and a very active junior hockey development programme.

Our three ladies teams play in the West Clubs Ladies League: our 1st XI in Premier 2, our 2nd XI in Severn Division 1 and our 3rd XI in Severn Division 3. Our mens teams play in the West of England & South Wales Hockey League: the 1st XI in Wilts & NE Somerset Division 1 and our 2nd XI in Division 2. We also run a mens 3rd XI to provide opportunities for our vets to pass on their experience to our aspiring 1st XI players. Our Youth development programme continues to thrive, with coaching every Sunday morning at Wootton Bassett School.

Wootton Bassett Hockey Club runs 3 ladies hockey teams, 3 mens hockey teams and a junior section for ages 5 to 16. Our Ladies 1st XI play in West Premier Div. 2, the Ladies 2nds & 3rds in Severn Divs 1 & 3 resp. Our Mens 1st XI play in the Wilts & NE Somerset Division 1 and our 2nds play in W&NES Division 2.

Wootton Bassett Hockey Club has grown in strength over recent years as and this has been reflected in consistently good results on the pitch. The Ladies 1st team is one of the strongest teams in the area and the Mens 1st team has been climbing up the leagues, narrowly missing out on a further promotion last season. The new facilities at Wootton Bassett School mean we now have one of the best Astroturf pitches in the league. The Club has an active junior development programme for boys and girls on Sundays and numerous U-16s now play regularly in the senior teams. We run Ladies and Mens Development XIs that will play in the Wiltshire development league next season to provide opportunities for competitive hockey for our veterans and accelerated development opportunities for our junior players.

Our home venue is the Astroturf pitch at Wootton Bassett School, Lime Kiln, Wootton Bassett, Wilts SN4 7HD.
