The Natalie Wells Band slowly began in early 2002, after Natalie had picked up playing the guitar (and quite quickly) not even a year before. She had been playing the 'blues jams' around Cincinnati, OH and northern KY, when one day she was offered a gig by the owner of Sonny's All Blues Lounge. She threw together a band and started to work on learning enough songs to fill up an hour-long set.
Over the next couple of years -and many club and festival dates- Natalie was voted 'blues artist of the year' by the Cincinnati Entertainment Awards (in 2003) and has been nominated for the award a handful of other times. She has since had the opportunity to open for and share the stage with such artists as Magic Slim and the Teardrops, Big Brother and the Holding Company (Janis Joplin's old band), John Stephan, Little Ed and the Blues Imperials and Elvin Bishop.
