The Little Brother Band
Tyler
Tyler was born into a musical family and has photo evidence of his destiny in drumming from as early as one or two years of age.  He started piano lessons at age 8 and started drums in his church band (mom and dad played keys and bass respectively) at age 10.  His dad insisted on his continued piano study to ground him in music theory.  At age 12 Tyler joined the high school band program where he learned different styles of music and started to build an appreciation for many types of percussion.  Tyler reworked his technique while in high school under the tutelage of Scott Robertson.  Following high school, he was accepted into the venerated Jazz Studies program at Capilano College in North Vancouver.  Tyler's lifelong passion for jazz was only heightened during this time.  He has performed at the Maple Ridge Jazz and Blues Festival with his jazz quartet FourMore formed at Cap.  Tyler is also a member of Greylevel, a progressive/art rock group based in Richmond, BC.  He is still involved with the praise and worship teams at Northside Church in Port Coquitlam, BC.  Tyler is currently attending UCFV in Abbotsford, BC and teaches drum lessons privately.

Tyler joined The Little Brother Band at the tender age of 19 after meeting Wes while working with him at a tree farm as a seasonal employee.  Wes called Tyler out of the blue one evening to join him at a local pub to play.  From the downbeat, musical and rhythmic chemistry was evident to them both and soon thereafter, Wes asked Tyler to join the band.

With strong influences in the Fusion, Funk, and Jazz genres, Tyler brings a very musical approach and consideration to LBB's music.  Drummers like Dave Weckl, Vinnie Colaiuta, Steve Smith, David Garibaldi, and Steve Gadd inform Tyler's style.  Creativity and a desire to try something different are evident in Tyler's beats, fills, and concepts.
