![]() Summer '08 shows - Wes SpeaksIt was a breakthrough summer for the Little Brother Band. We played some fantastic outdoor festivals and some AAAPIC shows at the Dublin Crossing in Langley (what a cool, Irish pub).
The Music in the Park festival in Kamloops was a wonderful experience for the band. We played for well over a thousand people in the beautiful riverside park/amphitheatre. The entire weekend was a positive experience beginning with a TV interview on The Midday Show in Kamloops. Yesterday's Seafest in White Rock was a true pleasure for the band to be a part of. We played on the Spirit stage nestled in the natural amphitheatre at Semiahmoo Park. Being able to see a view of the ocean from the stage was a treat. It was also great to play for such an attentive audience. The crowd seemed to grow the longer we played. Photo Shoot - Thoughts from the ThroneSO...FREAKIN'...COLD!
Thanks a lot for choosing the middle of January to update the promo pack. I mean seriously... Actually all things being equal, the shoot went pretty well...as long as I didn't have Kelly's hair attacking my face...or Dan's grabbing of anything in sight (tree branches, his own face, Wes' face, you know...). (How cool is the bass player?) Roosters - Wes SpeaksProof that a fully functional website really does help market a band! After being contacted by the powers that be at Rooster's via said website, The LBB went into this Country Bar and gave them a more than solid dose of Folk-Rock! Honestly, this was one of the tightest performances the band has given to date. Every member seemed to have their musical hats on and impressed a healthy, fun-filled audience full of friends old and new with an upbeat and original set that kept them listening to the lyrics and groovin' to the music. The band seemed to be conscious of the players around them, but relaxed at the same time allowing them to open up their playing a little. Vocally, Wes and Dan's harmonies were on and the singing seemed to happen naturally. This was one of those shows where the entire band felt good about it when all was said and done - never an easy task. Cheers to all of those that came out to support the LBB, we had a great time with you and hope to do it all again real, real soon.
Breaking Developments - Thoughts from the ThroneThis year has been all about transition for the LBB. We've been trying to figure out how to take a good product to the next level of greater regional and hopefully national exposure. With Reflections out and satisfactory to awesome (why wouldn't they give me just a couple more takes...crappy perfectionist that I am), we need to kick it up and get going on the playing live. Here's to the opportunities we have and the opportunities we're making.
Stay tuned... Tyler Candlelight Concert - Thoughts from the ThroneWow! What a unique show!
First off, thanks to all who came and saw. It was an interesting performance. We debuted a number of new tunes by Wes and a few collaborative efforts from the three non-Friesens. I thought they all went fairly well, though being AR as I am, I'd like to see some more work put into some of them. I was excited to see the positive feelings and sensitivity coming out in our music. I think the quiet-ness really works well to help us hear all what's going on and to listen to each other. Now we gotta convince those crazy Roxy soundmen to turn the bass down a little (though not off...Davis' amp...phhh please). I give us 4 1/2 gold stars, a thumbs up, and a pat on the back. Tyler |
