Mike Bunch describes himself modestly as "Just a pounder" when it comes to playing drums. But his solid, confident style gives testament to how good he really is. Mike always gives 200% of himself at every performance (driving the band through each song) and most of the time the audience can't see him.

Born and raised in Florida, Mike can remember sitting on the floor in front of the TV at age twelve (drumsticks poised) waiting to beat "The Monkee's" theme song into the livingroom carpet. At 16 he got his first professional gig with childhood friend, Ricky Sylvia. They started a 50's style show band called "Ricky and Tightrope" that performed all over Florida through Mike's teen years. In the early 80's, the band changed to Sound Society. They worked for several years playing in the Tomorrowland Pavillion and River Country at Walt Disney World, not to mention touring worldwide from England to San Francisco, playing private parties for major corporations. In between, Mike was able to play drums for such headliners as Joey Dee, The Ink Spots, Steppenwolf, and Johnny (loop-dee-loop) Thunder. In 1989, Sound Society got the job as the houseband for the Orchid Garden at Church Street Station. A title they kept for twelve years and during which time Tim Campbell joined their ranks with his exceptional vocals and keyboards. Sound Society logged a lot of miles outside of the Orchid Garden during this time, playing private parties in such exotic resorts as Cancun, Mexico and Little Dix Bay in the Virgin Islands. When Church Street Station closed it's doors forever in 2001, the band had evolved into "Rock-n-Soul". Mike and Tim continued to play weekends together for more than two years. In 2004, Mike was asked to join Tim with guitarist Bill Meadors to form the excellent trio... TRAVELIN' LITE.

"I just really love playing music. It was always one of my greatest dreams as a kid. Life was kind enough to send my way good friends to help me live it. I live to play!...and I play to live!"
