Courtesy of BostonBandCrush.com, a great blog site devoted to following musical happenings in the band's hometown of Boston, MA. The WBCN Rock 'n' Roll Rumble has been in effect annually since 1978, and this year saw The Luxury winning the first evening of the six shows that comprise round one, then moving on to a great show in the semis (despite an acute case of poison ivy for drummer Steve and a severe chest cold for singer Jason), which did not take the night but earned them a wildcard slot in the final round.
The finals, however, were a different story. With a fully recovered Steve and a mostly-recovered Jason, The Luxury opened up the finals on 4/24/09 in the wildcard slot to a full house, brought the crowd to their feet and ended up walking away with the whole thing. This is the performance ultimately that funded the recording and printing of the album "In The Wake Of What Won't Change".
All three Rumble appearances are chronicled here, beginning with the finals. Enjoy.
