Christmas O'Clock As the holidays approacheth, just thought we'd update everybody on recent goings on. The band is preparing to go into the studio in January to record an EP of all new material. We're looking forward to letting everyone hear what we've been working on, with lots of new live dates and a band name change to boot! We'll be sure to keep you updated on any and all developments as they, well, develop. Happy holidays! ______________________________________________________________________________________ Saturday, November 8, 2008
Two Things The Jacob Church Band will be playing at Newby's on Highland in Memphis tonight. We'll be on the bar side, so you can reach right out and touch us if you so desire (and we know you so desire). The show's 21+, so leave the kids at home and come party with us. We want to see everyone there! Tell a friend to tell a friend. It's gonna be a great time! Also, check out the video of the band playing on Live@9 on election day below. We had a lot of fun and should be back on in the near future. You can see us perform "The Trick Is," a new song, and "More to Say" from Dancehall. Let us know what you think! ______________________________________________________________________________________ Wednesday, August 20, 2008
Smith's Olde Bar in Atlanta Like Sherman on his way to the sea, we're passing through Atlanta soon, only replace the war and destruction with rock and roll and raucous good times. The Jacob Church Band will be at Smith's Olde Bar in Atlanta on September 2nd. We're billed with two other bands, and the cover's only $5. You can't beat value like that. So if you're over 21, live in Atlanta, know someone who does, or feel like taking some vacation days for a road trip (sounds like a good idea to me), come on out and help us show Smith's the power of Ye Olde Rock. ______________________________________________________________________________________ Tuesday, July 15, 2008
Hard Rock Hey everybody. We have the privilege of double-billing with the Brad Kessler Band at the Hard Rock Cafe on Friday August 1st. This promises to be a great night of music and a great time, and we're trying to get as many people as we possibly can down to the Hard Rock on Beale Street for the show. If you're anywhere near Memphis, grab a few friends and come on down. Tickets are only $5 and you can either get them from the band beforehand or at the door the night of the show. You've all made this a great year of music so far, now help us pack out the Hard Rock for a great night! ______________________________________________________________________________________ Friday, February 22, 2008
Shenanigans! Howdy, friends. I've got some news for ya. First of all, the Jacob Church Band will be playing at the Full Moon Club (above Zinnie's East) in Memphis on March 21. Joining Jacob at the show is Jrew Raines, singer/songwriter extraordinaire. The show starts at 8PM, and is 21 and up, so leave the kids at home (there will be plenty of all ages shows coming up, don't worry). Tell a friend to tell a friend and come on out! Also, head on over to www.MemphisFlyer.com and check out the new Flyer Radio. Jacob is featured along with many other fine Memphis artists. Have a listen and support local music! (Scroll down the page and click the button on the right) Be on standby for more shows, new songs, and various shenanigans. Join the mailing list to be kept up to date. Get ready! ______________________________________________________________________________________ Friday, October 12, 2007
Meet Me in the Morning Howdy, friends. Coming up next Thursday (October 18) I'll be performing on "Live at 9" on Memphis News Channel 3. I'll be playing two songs with Ben and Matt, with an interview between, so don't miss my witty observations and clever remarks. But mostly my incoherent rambling. Should be a good time all around. I'll also be playing at the Flying Saucer in downtown Memphis Tuesday October 23. I'll be the featured artist for that night's songwriters night. Come on down and I just might buy you a beer if you ask real nice. Thanks so much to everyone who's picked up their copy of Dancehall and for your kind words. It really does mean a lot. There are many shows in Memphis and the surrounding area coming soon so that I can thank everyone properly and deliver some fresh rock and roll. Cheers! ______________________________________________________________________________________Thursday, September 27, 2007
Acoustic Set at Newbys October 2 Come join my brother and me for an acoustic set at Newby's this Tuesday night, October 2. We'll be opening for Further Down and Need to Breathe, and the rock will be fully brought (every so tenderly, though, of course). Hope to see everyone there. This will be the first in a long string of upcoming shows, so get ready and keep your eye on the calendar! ______________________________________________________________________________________ Friday, September 21, 2007Dancehall Reviewed in Memphis Commercial Appeal Mark Jordan:"Born in Houston, raised in Memphis, singer-songwriter Jacob Church has nevertheless fashioned an album that finds him very much at home in the sort of soft, solidly constructed acoustic rock you would expect to find in Nashville." Memphian Church surprises in debut ______________________________________________________________________________________ Sunday, August 19, 2007Dancehall Back in Stock I know some of you have recently tried to purchase "Dancehall" through CDBaby and it's been out of stock (though honestly, not being able to keep the record on the shelves is kind of a nice problem to have). Rest assured it's been fully replenished and will remain so. Also remember you can always get the album through iTunes. Continue rocking onward. ______________________________________________________________________________________ Wednesday, August 15, 2007Dancehall Available on Apple iTunes For those of you who still have yet to pick up "Dancehall" there's now another way to do it. "Dancehall" is now available on Apple iTunes. You can either follow this link or you can simply do a search for "Jacob Church" on iTunes. Again with the wonders of technology! ______________________________________________________________________________________ Monday, August 6th, 2007Free is Better than Not Free Because I love you (yes you, aw, don't blush) you can now download "Working Again," the first track off of Dancehall for FREE! I can't think of a better deal than that, so head on over to the Music/Listen page and grab it. You won't even have to worry about the RIAA coming to get you. Well, they might still come and get you, but it won't be because you downloaded this song. So download like crazy, and sign the guestbook to let me know what you think! (PS-Don't say "RIAA" three times or they'll appear. I seen it happen.) ______________________________________________________________________________________ Saturday, August 4th, 2007"Dancehall" Available Online For all of you who haven't been able to get a CD yet, there's now an easier way to do it. Just go to Music/Buy on this site and you can order "Dancehall" online. The wonders of technology! ______________________________________________________________________________________ Thursday, July 26th, 2007Thank you Thanks to everyone who came out last night for the CD release party. It was a blast. Thanks also to the Double Deuce Saloon for having us and to Copper Possum for bringing the extra rock. The CD should be available for purchase online within the week. Just keep your eye on the "Buy" link on the right. Also, while you're here sign up for the email list so we can update you on new shows and events that you won't want to miss! ______________________________________________________________________________________ Thursday, July 12th, 2007CD Release Party July 25 OK, it's finally time. Wednesday July 25, 10 PM at the Double Deuce Saloon on Beale Street in Memphis. Mark your calendars. Are you doing it? Don't back-sass me. Jacob will be performing with full band, joined by special guests Copper Possum. This has been a long time in the making so come out and celebrate. It's Beer Bust Wednesday night, too (which also means the show is 21+). The show is free and you can buy into the Beer Bust if you're into that kind of thing (I am). Come down to the brand new Double Deuce Saloon on Beale and celebrate the release of "Dancehall." ______________________________________________________________________________________ Sunday, July 8th, 2007"Dancehall" Almost Here As we speak, little machines are clicking and clanking (maybe beeping, perhaps whirring, and other onomatopoeias) printing your copy of my new record, Dancehall. It's been a long time coming, and it's finally here. Look for a CD release party in the next few weeks. Rest assured that as soon as I know, you'll know. |
