First Aid For Eric

Hello Everybody!
Well, it is that time again. Another entry into the On The Road archives. This just happened not to long ago. I would say about three days ago. Eric was at his house working on a building so he could store some equipment in and things of that nature. Well he worked hard all day on the building and then he started to rewire the building for power. Well that was going ok until he cut his finger about to the bone and I guess you could say that it was time to call it quits! So we all got on the bus about 3:00am Thursday morning heading to West Virginia for the first of this weeks concerts. Eric and I were in the back lounge and he wanted me to help him with his finger. Being the "good friend" that I am, I asked him what he wanted me to do. He showed me his finger, which has a very deep gash in it, which does need stitches, and he said to get the "super glue". So I got the super glue out and proceeded to glue his cut shut. When we got to the church that afternoon, we did our normal routine of setting up the sound and the merchandise table. We started our sound check but Eric was nowhere to be found. So we went ahead, did our check, and then went to the bus to get ready. Eric was working on the bus replacing a drive shaft that would have fallen out if we did not replace it right then. So off he goes crawling under the bus as Rayburn helps him out and Eric fixes the bus. As he gets back on the bus about 10 minutes before we have to sing, he is covered in grease and grime from under the bus and he says to me, "Well, the super glue sure does hold up Dr. Martin". So we sang that evening and the glue is still holding. Tonight we are in Ohio and Eric said that he is in need of a needle and some thread. Are you thinking what I'm thinking...…?

Until next time...
Jerry
